Warner University

Warner University is about to open a new academic building.

Construction of the Darby Academic Building is scheduled for completion in May, and the moving process will continue through the summer.

The 49,000-square-foot, $7.5 million facility contains science labs, visual arts labs and classrooms.

The Lake Wales campus added a new undergraduate degree in agricultural studies last fall, and 30 students have signed up.

Warner is looking to expand by adding an agriculture building. The school has raised $700,000 for the $2 million, 38,000-square-foot facility. The ground-breaking ceremony is scheduled for the spring of 2015.

Warner launched its football program last fall. The team won its first game on Nov. 16, 2013, with a 13-7 victory over Concordia University-Selma.

Warner was founded by the Southeastern Association of the Church of God in Anderson, Ind. The school is accredited by the Commission of Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and offers associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees.
