Colt Creek State Park

This 5,067-acre park on County Road 471 is in the Green Swamp north of Lakeland. Admission is $3 per vehicle. The park’s facilities are limited to hiking, picnicking, horseback riding and bank fishing. For information, call 863-815-6758.
The normal $4-per-vehicle entrance fee will be waived.
The event is intended to allow visitors to tour the park's new facilities, including a ranger station, fishing/observation dock and a large screened-in pavilion.
Visitors also will get a chance to learn about the park's natural resources through 20 interpretive signs located throughout the park.
The signs were funded by a grant from the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
Free activities offered during the event will include tram tours, guided nature hikes, canoeing and kayaking and fishing.
Colt Creek State Park is at 16000 State Road 471, north of Lakeland.
