Auburndale Speedway



Auburndale Speedway At the Auburndale Speedway, located at 5640 County Road 542 W., in Winter Haven, the quarter-mile, high-banked asphalt track is the oldest in Florida. Go karts run at the Auburndale Kartway every other Friday evening in front of the speedway on a one-fifth mile dirt track. The kartway is open to anyone whose kart passes technical inspection. Drivers range in age from 6 to 60. Stock car races are held at the speedway on weekends from February through December. Stock car drivers can practice on Thursdays on the speedway track. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. for all classes. Grandstand gates open at 4 p.m. Local races begin at 6 p.m. and typically include Scramblers for beginners, Mini Stock, Modified Mini Stock, Sportsman, V-8 bombers, Street Stock, a truck series, Mini Cup and Open Wheel Modified. The speedway also offers Lindsey's Little Racers, a program for children age 10 and younger who attend the races. Children are eligible for two grand prizes, two second-place prizes and 10 third-place ice cream prizes. This event is sponsored by one of the drivers each Saturday night. The grand prizes are racing collectible packs. Admission prices are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors; and $5 for children 6 to 12. Children younger than 6 are admitted free.
