Guide to Polk

Frostproof

The motto in Frostproof is "The Friendly City," and lakes, state parks and golf courses make it a comfortable place for young families and retirees alike,

The city is now also the home to the Sun Devils Drum and Bugle Corps musical ensemble, which practices at Frostproof High School.

The Chamber of Commerce has seen recent success with its series of performing arts programs, and they will continue into 2012. Organizers said the Frostproof area, though removed from the hustle and bustle of larger communities in the county, is entitled to have cultural programs, and the historic Ramon Theater is the quintessential venue for such performances.

Outdoors enthusiasts appreciate Frostproof for its good fishing, golf course, natural trails and state parks.
