According to reports, Joseph was showering about 5 p.m. Wednesday when Chambers got the handgun from the bedroom, accused her of cheating and shot her in the face. Chambers told police the shooting was an accident. He'd only meant to scare Joseph and thought the handgun wasn't loaded, spokesman Jack Gillen said. Police charged Chambers with second-degree murder, but the State Attorney's Office upped the charge to first-degree murder.
