GAME RECAP:
Washington Redskins quarterback Doug Williams tied a Super Bowl record with four touchdown passes in the second quarter, and running back Timmy Smith ran for a Super Bowl record 204 yards and two touchdowns, as Washington scored 42 unanswered points. Williams threw for a Super Bowl-record 340 yards. Receiver Ricky Sanders had a Super Bowl-record 191 yards receiving. The Redskins’ 35 points in the second quarter set a Super Bowl mark, as did its six overall touchdowns and 601 total yards.
