GAME RECAP:
Adam Vinatieri’s 48-yard field goal as time expired lifted the Patriots to their first Super Bowl victory. The Patriots led 7-3 after Ty Law returned an interception 47 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. Eventually, the Patriots led 17-3 before the Rams came back. Kurt Warner scored on a 2-yard run and found Ricky Proehl for a 26-yard touchdown with 1:30 remaining to tie the game. But Tom Brady completed 6 of his next 7 passes to get the Patriots down to the 30 with seven seconds remaining, leading to Vinatieri’s game-winner.
